Rhinoplasty Nose Reshaping

Rhinoplasty Nose Reshaping Nose reshaping (commonly known as "Rhinoplasty" in medicinal world), also known as nose tip correction, is one of the most popular cosmetic surgery procedures, for both men and women that is performed in order to change the size and/or the shape of a person's nose and in some cases to improve their breathing. Rhinoplasty can trim down or increase the size of your nose, change the figure of the tip or the bridge, narrow the span of the nostrils, or alter the angle between your nose and your upper lip. It may also make perfect a birth defect or injury, or help relieve some breathing problems. The procedure has existed in India since 500 BC, making it by most recognized form of plastic surgery established by Charak (an ancient Indian Ayurvedic physician & surgeon). Procedure remain little changed today with the technological advancement and the technique remains popular within the world of cosmetic surgery. This surgery helps you to improve your self-image if you are self-conscious about your nose and facial appearance.

Rhinoplasty Nose ReshapingThere are two major techniques performed for rhinoplasty-Closed rhinoplasty and Open rhinoplasty. In open rhinoplasty technique, an incision is made in the skin in the middle of the two nostrils (the columella). This method allows the surgeon to completely visualize the inner structures of the nose and place sutures accurately where they are required. Whereas closed rhinoplasty does not require an external incision. This does not disturb the tissues as much as the open technique and the scar of surgery heals more quickly and patient recovers soon. In addition, if you are having breathing troubles, surgeon may improve it by a procedure called septoplasty, which corrects defects or abnormalities of the nasal septum. The rhinoplasty procedure generally takes around 1 to 2 hours, though more complicated procedures may take longer. The operation starts with the skin of the nose being alienated from its supporting framework of the bone and cartilage, which is then sculpted to the desired shape. The skin is then re-draped over the new structure. After the competition of surgery, a splint is then applied to help the nose maintain its new figure.

General anesthetic or local anesthetic is performed for the surgery depending on patient's or doctor's preference. Usually 1 to 2 nights stay is required for patient at cosmetic surgery clinic. It is advised to those who are planning for rhinoplasty that don’t use any pharmaceuticals containing acetylsalicylic acid like-Acylpirin, Aspirin, Anopyrin etc. 3 weeks before the Nose cosmetic surgery, as they reduce the clotting time of blood.

Stitches of surgery are usually removed in six to seven days and patients can return to regular scheduled work in ten to fifteen days. Bruises and the primary swelling will remain almost up to 14 days after the surgery. The nose may still swell from time to time for about 2 months. An ultimate, completely stabilised result may be expected after 8-12 months.
