Thigh Lift

Thigh lift surgery (technically known as Thighplasty in the clinical world), is aesthetic reshaping of the thigh after removal of excess medial skin and fat. Procedure is designed to tighten the skin of the thigh and reduce sagging in the inner or outer thigh. Sometimes it is also called as "Thigh Contouring procedure". It is suggested by the consultant that if your inner thighs are very big and have a lot of fatty tissues, it might be best to do liposuction first to remove as much of the excess tissue as possible.

General anesthesia is used for minimizing the pain during the surgery and can be combined with other allied procedures, such as tummy tucks and liposuction. This surgery usually takes around two to three hours to complete. The incision made to perform a thigh lift is placed in the groin area under the bikini line. A hemispherical of skin is removed from the groin, then the tissues below the incision are loosened and the "thigh lift" takes place as the skin is pulled up and the incision sutured shut. After the Thighplasty procedure, the patient can go home after numerous hours, but it would more comfortable to stay overnight under the medical observation.

Swelling is usually experienced within two or three weeks and there is rarely bruising related with thigh lift surgery. Patients should expect to be off from routing activities for around a week, although most patients are able to get up and move around within a few days of the thigh lift. It is advised that patients should plan to take off from their work for 7-10 days.
