Dental Implants
Dental implant surgery is a cosmetic dental cure procedure that replaces spoiled or missing teeth with false teeth that look and function much like real ones. Here an artificial tooth root (synthetic material) is surgically affixed into jaw to hold a replacement tooth or bridge in place. In recent, this implant surgery is being a suitable alternative for ill-fitting dentures or bridgework. In the sector of cosmetic dentistry, dental implant is the perfect treatment option for people with one, few or all missing teeth. Chewing becomes difficult and sometimes leading to additional pain if the root of tooth is missing. So the dental implant is positioned into the jawbone and serves as a safe root for the new tooth for nice facial smile as well as get ride of from such kind of pain.
The procedure of dental implant begins by using a general anesthesia. A screw made of Titanium is used to perform this treatment and surface of screw is roughened so that it can grip well in jaw bone. Dentist makes a hole in jaw bone where Titanium screw is inserted. Lot of heat is generated during making a hole in jaw and saline is sprayed to bring heat down. Gum is applied over the area and time is given to get it healed and integrated in jaw bone. Subsequently, implant dentist inserts temporary crown on implant and after some time when gums grow as per requirement, final crowns are placed. In short, there are two steps involved for placing of dental implants. During the first initial, implant portion is surgically placed into or on top of the jaw bone. These are left alone for 4 to 6 months to fix to the bone. The new tooth is attached to the previous point of dental implant when a strong foundation is formed.
Procedure of implant takes different time depending on situation and case. At the end of treatment, patient can chew normally and feel increased strength in oral structure. Pain & discomfort can be experienced caused by the implantation procedure but it will subside after some while. Complete recovery can be achieved after 3-6 months of the first step whereas after second surgery in which the teeth are positioned into the implants has a very short recuperation time of just a few weeks. At the end patient gets natural looking teeth, younger look, better smile and a healthy jaw which was damaged due to loss of tooth.
